The hardest hit areas of New York, Washington, and California, among others have caused funeral homes to change their protocol, in effect altering our abilities. Some funeral homes in New York decline to have our pathologists perform services at their locations because they have been at capacity. Others have declined in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.
With that being said, we are still performing independent autopsies throughout the nation, toxicology services, and we have the ability to test for COVID-19 being present in the deceased.
